Music
This page will shortly have music clips available. Honestly, it really will. No, I mean it this time. I can change.
I & I
This album recording in 2001 (?) is my first and only studio solorecording. I loved doing it, and remember the mood and atmosphere of those times in general very fondly. Playing on this album is bass player Nick Boyes with some lovely slide work from old trooper Mel Gibbs and his equally lovely daughter, Zoe singing on various backing tracks.
Caine
My very first studio recording with a band that was truly my own. Caine (or Caine 23 as I thought of it) was an energy an spirit unto itself. I have never felt quite so part of a group before or since that band. With Bill Waller on guitar, Matt Fawcett on bass and Simon Fawcett on drums, this band was a rolling muscle of sweat, energy and emotion.
Pepperland
The first proper band I played in, Pepperland were massively popular in Scarborough and beyond for years. With an unbeatable lineup of talent, and three-part harmonies for the sake of it (and also because it sounded great) - they were the darlings of the local scene with good reason. Until I got sacked, for being unreliable. Having taken that as a kind of badge of honour, they then proceeded to go steadily downhill (in my unbaised opinion).
Worried Men/Railroad Bill/Hobes/Los Hobos etc etc!
Vince Townsend is a musical genuis. Don't let anyone convince you otherwise. 20 years of musical involvement with this fascinating man have resulted in some of the best gigs of my life, in situations that are almost always a pleasure to be in, and with people who are almost always exactly right to be there with.
